Clinical supervision is available for lactation professionals who desire to sit the board exam by The International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners, or IBLCE. This opportunity allows you to move through the phases of supervision while:

learning to take a history, counseling towards client goals, documentation, creation of care plans and making referrals,
-
addressing Clinical Competencies and Detailed Content Outline preparing you to sit the exam,
-
observing consultations run by experienced IBCLCs,
-
working with families together with your preceptor learning hands on skills,
-
gaining valuable face to face time with families running consults and creating care plans on your own with your preceptor either at your side or on site for support when needed.
The first 45 lactation specific hours must be completed prior to commencing supervision. The second 45 lactation specific education hours can be in progress during your supervision.
